#Bookstagram

When I wake up, the first thing I reach for is my phone and check my email and social media. Imagine waking up to everyone over the age of 22 receiving a small box with their name and the words “The measure of your life lies within” inscribed outside of their door. You rush to check to see if you have a box too, and you do!
I’ve been anticipating this book for a while and my friends at @weiserbooks was kind enough to pass along an early copy. @amyblackthornauthor is one of the authors I continually turn to for reference. Her books have covered everything from essiential oils, sacred smoke, and botanical brews. Now she takes us to the topic of protection magic. ⁣⁣
Anyone who has been following me knows I love #mythology. Thanks to Marvel, Hollywood has catapulted #NorseMythrology into the line light. #LokiAndSigyn shares an in depth look at our favorite trickster God and his wife, Sigyn. ⁣
I recently came across a beautiful set of books by @maiatoll They are absolutely breathtaking to behold, thanks to the ethereal illustrations by @kate.ohara.illustration ⁣
Like many readers here on #bookstagram, I’ve always found a haven in the stories I read. I have had a fascination with #mythology and the mirrors they hold up to our lives. Many years ago, in what I would refer to as the winter of my life I found my love for #astrology and how the #natalchart or the placement of the planets at the moment of your birth can collate with your personality and challenges that you will face in your life. This also roots into #psychology and works of #CarlGJung. ⁣
I think we can all agree, 2021 was a weird year. For me it was a year of big changes. We moved to a much larger home where we couldn’t be happier. I also went through a huge reading rut. In 2020 reading was my escape from reality and I read 68 books. This year I only read 36. For me, its not so much about the number I read, but the journey me and these beautiful stories took. ⁣⁣
